Catharine Kaercher Art

Catherine (Dharmata) is a longtime Buddhist meditator who has studied in a number of Buddhist traditions with fine teachers from most of the major lineages.  After graduating from Reed College, she spent a number of years as a fine jeweler then worked in the corporate world as Operations Manager for a research lab in a large computer company while raising her daughter in Palo Alto.

In 2003, she began studying and painting Thangka images, and attended the Tsering Art School at Shechen Monastery in Nepal for four years.  At present Catherine lives with her husband Dorjee in Oregon overlooking a large pond, and divides her time between the US and eastern Tibet.

About the art—

These paintings are based on the Karma Gadri tradition of painting from Eastern Tibet as taught in Nepal and India by Konchog Ladrepa, the kind founder of the painting school at Shechen Monastery.  While this tradition strictly forms the basis and line drawings and ornaments for the paintings, as a practitioner of today, Catherine says she makes the offering of simplicity, serenity, and compassion in her expression of the style.

The paintings are reproduced in the US in the highest quality.  They are printed on thick acid free archival paper with colorfast inks in ultra high resolution.  The reproduction matches the original in fineness and perfect brilliant color.    Original paintings are also available by commission.

Do not divide appearances as being there and awareness as being here. Let appearance and awareness be indivisible.
